With only 10 weeks to go until my wedding (where has the time gone!), I am busy purchasing and making decorations ready for the big day. Luckily I have a lot of creative friends to help but going to wedding fairs is still very useful, especially when there are newlyweds selling their items – perfect for those brides who are planning a rustic/DIY wedding.
A friend suggested that I sign up for a fair that was to take place in Guiseley, Leeds at the theatre. It’s a fair that specialises in preloved and handmade items, organised by The Bridal Market. I decided to register my attendance via their Facebook event group and see what the fair had to offer.
Not only is it appealing to brides, but also to recent newlyweds who can exhibit and sell all of their wedding items that they purchased and/or made. Something I hadn’t come across before and possibly an option for me once the wedding planning is over!
When arriving at the fair we were asked to sign in and pay the £1 admission fee. We were then notified that we would be entered into a prize draw, a nice added extra!
Walking around it was nice to see a variety of exhibitors showcasing their products. I have listed below what caught my eye!
- Handmade jewellery
- Versatile jewellery company Stella & Dot
- Forever Living products
- Younique makeup
- Vintage cake stand hire
- Preloved stands
- Handmade candles
- Wedding makeup
- Chocolate fountain
- Love lights
- Handmade wedding items e.g. confetti, chalkboards
- Rustic handmade items
To say this was the first event of its kind, run by The Bridal Market it looked like it was a huge success! I can imagine that over the coming years this event will carry on growing.
If you are interested in this type of event and live in the area, why not register for the forthcoming fair on 21 August at the Clark Foley Centre in Ilkley. It sounds like there will be different exhibitors there again, unfortunately I will be on my hen do otherwise I would definitely be attending!
